Our ESOL classes at LOVO Women’s Centre are designed to help women build confidence in everyday English in a supportive, relaxed, and welcoming environment. The course is for learners at Entry 1 and Entry 2 level, including those who are new to English or who want to strengthen their basic skills before moving on to higher levels.
What the class covers:
Everyday vocabulary for home, community, shopping, school, and health
Speaking and listening for real-life situations, such as asking for help, making appointments, and talking to teachers or doctors
Simple reading tasks, such as signs, forms, and short texts
Basic writing skills, including sentences, personal information, and everyday messages
Practising pronunciation and understanding spoken English
Building confidence to communicate independently
Teaching style:
Supportive, women-only environment
Small groups with lots of speaking practice
Friendly activities, pair work, and practical tasks
No pressure — all abilities welcome
Who the class is for:
Women whose first language is not English
Learners at Entry 1 or Entry 2 level
Anyone wanting to improve confidence and communication in daily life
Outcome:
By the end of the course, learners will feel more comfortable using English at home, in the community, and in everyday situations, and may progress onto Entry 3 or other courses.
